Siding Tips/FAQs

Vinyl vs. Aluminum: Vinyl adopts many of the same qualities as aluminum; it has a low maintenance requirement and is a better insulator than wood. One large advantage favoring vinyl as opposed to aluminum is its durability: it is resistant to dents and other types of harm. Also, there is absolutely no painting required and small scratches are not seen easily.

"How would I save money with Fullback®V under my siding?"

Think of it like this: during the winter; imagine yourself wearing a heavy jacket versus a light jacket. Which makes you feel warmer? By adding Fullback®V to your siding, your house will keep heat where it belongs, inside in the winter and outside in the summer!

Nearly 25% of your home's wall surface is made up of wooden studs which are entirely uninsulated (walls have insulation between the studs, but not over them). That is like having one whole wall of your home without any insulation! Heat by-passes the insulation in your walls and escapes across these wooden studs. This process is called thermal bridging, and it's costing you money every day!

Take a look at the thermal images below. The house on the left does not have Fullback®V on the outside, and is losing energy every day

The United States Department of Energy recommends adding exterior insulation to the outside of your home to help break the thermal bridge. The most cost-effective time to add insulation to your exterior is when you reside your home, but unfortunately, other siding products were not designed to insulate:
